What age do you start dance classes? We offer dance and movement class for all ages. Zumbini classes are open to children ages 0-4. Preschoolers and toddlers can join Grownup and Me or Kids in Motion. We even offer classes for adults.
How much does it cost? Tuition is broken down by the time that dancers are in class. The more classes a dancer (or a family) takes, the less the cost is per class. Certain classes that are only offered for a limited time are a set fee.
What should my child wear for dance class? Our policy is a leotard and tights for girls, and shorts and a slim fitting t-shirt for boys. Dancers are welcome to wear a skirt over their leotard. All dancers must have appropriate shoes for the class they are taking. Items may be purchased through our online store. www.shopnimbly.com/ovation
Do you have classes for boys? While we do not have any classes exclusively for boys, we welcome them into all of our classes. Dance has benefits for all children. Dance builds confidence, coordination, strength, discipline, and teamwork.
How long does dance run? Dance classes start in September and run until our recital in June. We welcome new students throughout the fall into January. Our summer programs vary from one day camps to six week programs.
What is the "recital"? Is it expensive? The recital is our end of the year performance where the dancers have a chance to show off everything they have learned during the year. While there are some costs associated with the recital, costumes and tickets primarily, we aim to make it as affordable as possible. Part of our studio mission is to make dance accessible to everyone.
Do you compete? No, our studio is not a competitive studio. We do offer a performance company for dancers that want more performance opportunities. Our performance company dances at Kennywood, local nursing homes, and community events.
